How to send money with Zelle®

Zelle® is a fast and free (U.S. checking or savings account required to use Zelle®. Transactions between enrolled consumers typically occur in minutes and generally do not incur transaction fees.) way to send and receive money with the people you know and trust. You can find Zelle® in the banking app of hundreds of banks and credit unions nationwide. Send money straight from your banking app for all sorts of things – even if your recipient has a different U.S.-based bank or credit union.

  • Access Zelle®
    • Get started by enrolling your email or U.S. mobile number through your mobile banking app or with the Zelle® app.
  • Pick a Person to Pay
    • Enter the preferred email address or U.S. mobile number of the recipient. You can send money to almost anyone1 you know and trust with a bank account in the U.S.
  • Choose the Amount
    • Enter the amount to send. Your recipient gets a notification explaining how to complete the payment, simply and quickly.
  • Secure
    • Your account information stays protected - you won't see the other person's bank account info, and they won't see yours.

  • Application fees for an apartment are limited to fees for background checks and credit checks, and now cannot exceed $20. The $20 limitation applies to licensed real estate brokers and salespeople acting as an agent of the "landlord, lessor, sub-lessor or grantor".

  • Zelle® is an easy way to send money directly between almost any U.S. bank accounts typically within minutes. With just an email address or mobile phone number, you can quickly, safely and easily send and receive money with more people, regardless of where they bank.

  • Zelle® doesn’t charge a fee to send or receive money. We recommend confirming with your bank or credit union that there are no additional fees.

  • If your bank or credit union offers Zelle®, you may be able to use their online banking site to send and receive money without a mobile device. If your bank or credit union does not offer Zelle®, then you must have a smartphone in order to access the Zelle® app to send and receive money.

  • You can only cancel a payment if the recipient hasn’t yet enrolled with Zelle®. You can go to your activity page within the Zelle® experience, either within your mobile banking app or the Zelle® app, choose the payment you want to cancel, and then select “Cancel This Payment.” If your recipient has already enrolled with Zelle®, the money is sent directly to your recipient’s bank account and cannot be canceled.
